The UC Davis Health Medical Office Building in Folsom represents a new model for regional outpatient care. One that prioritizes the patient experience while maximizing flexibility and efficiency for future replication.
This three-story, 114,000-square-foot facility establishes a strong architectural and spatial identity for UC Davis Health, balancing clinical performance with a deeply human-centered design. Organized around a central green space and infused with natural light, the building fosters comfort, clarity, and a sense of place. The facility is the first of three planned structures that will define a walkable, landscaped hub for the broader Folsom community. Circulation routes and waiting areas are placed along expansive glass walls to simplify wayfinding and connect users visually to the outdoors. Vertical louvers provide nuanced solar control, with denser placement at waiting zones to enhance thermal and visual comfort. This modular, scalable design serves as a replicable template for UC Davis Health, aligning long-term vision with immediate patient needs.
Designed to elevate healthcare environments while anchoring the future of a growing campus.
“This enhanced patient experience creates a signature building for UC Davis Health, who envision the design as a prototype for other projects in the region.”
