The Emery replaces the brownfield site of the former Sherwin-Williams paint factory with a vibrant, family-friendly market-rate mixed-use community.
LPAS was the architect for the entire master planned community which consists of 4 individual mid-rise residential buildings and 500 units with integrated parking. Because LPAS was the only architect for the entire community, one of the City’s primary concerns was that the architecture of the buildings appear as if designed by multiple firms. LPAS achieved design diversity throughout the site through design, massing, building height, and materials, while maintaining a consistent and cost-effective detailing approach across all buildings. Buildings B1 and B2 reflect the historic warehouse character of the original site and are in close proximity to the only remaining building from the original Sherwin Williams paint factory. Building C is reminiscent of its industrial heritage at the base of the building and looks to the future with a contemporary addition on the upper levels. Building D is specifically influenced by the style of the railroad industrial era.
